Well Established Profitable Cafe with High Footfall, Busy Mid North Coast Town

Description

Located in the coastal town of Port Macquarie on the Mid-North coast of NSW, an area that boasts beautiful beaches, a laid-back lifestyle and a strong year-round tourism trade, this local eatery is a unique and well-presented business with a solid reputation for great service and amazing food.

Established for seven years, the current owners having been at the helm from the beginning have created a warm and inviting space which has proved a huge success with locals and tourists alike.

Situated in one of the towns most picturesque and historic buildings, right in the heart of the towns CBD and only metres away from the regional gallery, theatre, shopping centre and hotels there is no shortage of passing trade day or night.

The interior decor of the business has been carefully created to have an eclectic yet clean lined feel, with beautiful hand printed wallpaper, on trend stainless shelving and warm timber benches with seating for up to 16 patrons. This space was temporarily adjusted following Covid restrictions to change from an indoor Cafe to exclusively outside dining, moving from table service to order at our counter window area. The integrity of the interior has however been maintained, so a move back to indoor seating is a quick fix with little to no cost involved.

The large and inviting alfresco area, with distant views of the Hastings River has the European vibe of a cobbled courtyard, seating for up to 46 customers and is adorned with purpose-built planter boxes, stylish bistro tables, chairs and umbrellas which positioned under a canopy of trees provide shade and a pleasant atmosphere.

The clientele enjoy dishes from a well-produced menu plus a popular specials board which is based on local and seasonal produce and a great way to minimise wastage.

The owner is the full time chef within the business and is supported by 10 additional members of staff. Current opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am to 2pm and closed on Sundays. A new 5 x 5 year lease has just been signed.

This profitable business is ready for a motivated buyer to take the reins as an owner/operator, extend the hours of operation past the current lunchtime only trade and reap the rewards. Prior to Covid the business operated a highly successful evening trade which would be easy to re-introduce. This business is all set-up and ready to go, the daily operational procedures are already expertly run, further profitability can be obtained by increasing margins plus there is strong demand for take home meals, including delivery platforms and function catering.

Hospitality Consultant, Certified Exit Planning Advisor, Licensed Business Broker in NSW, SA, QLD, VIC @ GSE Hospitality Brokers

I grew up in the food business, my parents owned two very successful restaurants. I have fond memories of working alongside them from a very early age.

All through my school years I knew that I wanted to be a part of the hospitality industry and the day that I started at college could not come quickly enough. I spent three enjoyable years learning my trade and left college to join my parents in their second restaurant.

In 1992 my parents decided that the time was right for them to sell up and I felt it was also the right time for me to go out on my own.

In 1993 I opened my first Cafe called “Hogarth’s” and that is where it all began. Over the following 25 years, I built and sold nine food businesses. I loved every minute (well most of it) and learnt a lot about how the sale process works, I also learned some very valuable lessons.

I love the food industry and wanted to crack double digits and open shop number ten, unfortunately, the two things that I value the most in my life, my marriage and my health probably would not have lasted if I had done that so I called it a day

I always felt that there was a better way to sell cafes and food businesses and that is where the idea for GSE came from. My vision was to build a specialist firm of hospitality brokers that could make the sales process as straightforward as possible for the owners of hospitality businesses in Australia.

I am now using the experience I gained selling my own businesses as well as selling a lot of other people’s businesses to lead the team of very talented brokers at GSE.

I would love the opportunity to show you more about how the approach that GSE take can help you to sell your business for the price that you want and on your terms.

If you are looking for a specialist Hospitality Broker who has walked the walk and fully understands the industry and all of the nuances of the sales process then I would love to hear from you.
