Six Steps to Sale Program Manager @ GSE Hospitality Brokers

My first taste of the hospitality industry was when I was 11, working in my parents’ bakery, Narraweena Cake Shop, located on the Northern Beaches of NSW.

They taught me early on about customer service and providing high-quality products. It’s definitely the bakery that developed my passion for food—fresh bread, egg custard tarts, and all those things you should eat in moderation.

I have a diverse work background, I’ve worked in Real Estate both in Australia and the UK. I spent 7 years in the UK and studied a Postgraduate Degree in Music while working in the FMCG industry as an account manager for Nestle and the North West of England Territory Manager for Carlsberg.

My most recent hospitality venture was taking over a run-down café. I thought, what could go wrong? I love food and cooking and knew I excelled at customer service. We had plenty of challenges along the way but each time, we turned them into opportunities.

In just three years, I turned Moorland Cottage into a unique café dining experience with free-ranging chickens, which resulted in us winning the 2023 Outstanding Visitor Experience Award for the Mid Coast NSW. In the same year, we were also finalists in the Restaurant and Catering Awards for Best Casual Café Dining Regional NSW.

I doubled profits in two years while reducing our work days from 7 days a week to 5 days and closing all public holidays.

The combination of Hospitality and Real Estate experience as well as working in large corporate organisations, has enabled me to truly understand the importance of having processes, systems and great customer service and a strong team. I also believe that if you are in business you should never stop learning.

Working with GSE to sell my business led to some “light bulb moments” and definitely helped me with the sale of Moorland Cottage Café.

I am incredibly passionate about providing customer service experience and helping others succeed, and I look forward to helping you on your hospitality journey, whatever that may be.
